Why does Optimal Prenatal have a poor rating on Pure Market?

Dr. Lynch and the Seeking Health team are aware of this website and have responded by reaching out to Pure Market. Testing information has been requested to determine how they are testing and what test results changed the ratings. Pure Market has stated that they cannot share test results with us, or how they test each specific toxin and product. This makes it difficult to determine if their testing is of high quality and accuracy. Because of their lack of transparency, it is difficult to trust the accuracy of their testing.

Seeking Health has tested third-party tested Optimal Prenatal for phthalates (a major plasticizer), and the results were < 2.0 parts per million (ppm). 

Dr. Lynch has stated, "I suspect this ‘rating’ system was developed by a marketing team for certain supplement companies. "

Optimal Prenatal is high in plant-based compounds and minerals. Anytime a supplement contains minerals or plant-based nutrients in good amounts, it has the potential to contain naturally occurring metals that are found in the soil.
