There are four types of B12: adenosylcobalamin, hydroxocobalamin, methylcobalamin, and cyanocobalamin.
- Adenosylcobalamin: A primary form of B12 in the body that is mostly concentrated in cellular tissues.
- Hydroxocobalamin: Supports natural detoxification pathways and easily converts into methylcobalamin, the most active form.†
- Methylcobalamin: A primary form of B12 in the body that is mostly concentrated in blood plasma.
- Cyanocobalamin: None of our products contain this form. This is the inactive form that is paired with a cyanide molecule and is the most difficult to absorb and use in the body.
Your healthcare provider will be the best person to determine which form(s) are optimal for your health needs.
