Deplin is a high dose L-methylfolate. In some instances, Dr Lynch sees that it can be useful. However he is very cautious about recommending such high levels of L-methylfolate without first doing a trial of lower amounts and working up to higher amounts.
He states "Typically, when one resolves the underlying physiological and biochemical issues, one does not need high dose L-methylfolate."
Common underlying issues which lead to one having to take higher dose Deplin:
- low vitamin B12
- folate receptor antibodies
- low glutathione
- high intake of folic acid
- processed food diet
- medication interactions
