Milk thistle may have a laxative effect or cause heartburn in high doses. Milk thistle may cause an allergic reaction in people who are sensitive to the Asteraceae/Compositae plant family. Members of this family include ragweed, chrysanthemums, marigolds, daisies and many others.
N-acetyl-L-cysteine may cause nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea or constipation and more rarely it can cause rashes, fever, headache, dizziness, lightheadedness, drowsiness, low blood pressure, and liver problems.
Side effects of betaine anhydrous (TMG) may include nausea, stomach upset, and diarrhea.
Side effects of alpha-lipoic acid may include abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, rash, and vertigo. Malodorous urine has been noted by some.
Taurine has few known side effects but can cause increased urination.
